EXPLANATION OF THE GLOSSING SYSTEM
(to understand how I describe the signs in this translation).

Antiphon: (role play) COME-ON (2h)COME-#BACK-TO ME,
COME-ON (2h)#BACK. ME SAVE (2h)YOU WILL. (end role play)
THE LORD ANNOUNCE HIMSELF GOD.
HAVE-NONE OTHER. NONE, ONLY ME. (pause)
ME CALL-ON YOUR(plural) NAME.

1. ME GOD. MYSELF COMFORT (2h)YOU
WHY (2h)YOU AFRAID? WHY?
(2h)#ALL PEOPLE DIE, IDEA-LIKE GRASS GROW SUMMER,
BUT WINTER DIE FADE-AWAY. Antiphon

2. PAY-ATTENTION-TO ME, MY PEOPLE.
TAKE-IN WHAT ME SAY, MY NATION.
LAW ME ANNOUNCE WILL. MY JUSTICE BECOME LIGHT
FOR (2h)#ALL PEOPLE. Antiphon

3. COME-ON MANY-LOOK-UP-TO SKY,
AND MANY-LOOK-DOWN-TO EARTH.
SKY IDEA-LIKE SMOKE SOON GONE AND EARTH WORN-OUT
IDEA-LIKE CLOTHES. Antiphon

Notes: COME-ON - (2h)[B^] move in circles pivoting at the wrists to beckon someone to do something.

(2h)COME-#BACK-TO - (2h)[B], POs > signer, FOs up, move > signer while changing to (2h)[C] and then (2h)[K].

ME - Underlined words are honorific indices ("indexes"), using the FT of the upturned palm to indicate who is being honored.

HAVE-NONE

(2h)#ALL - (2h)[A], POs ><, FOs up, are held at shoulder height and move away while opening to (2h)[L].

IDEA-LIKE - A blending where IDEA has a [Y] instead of an [I] in anticipation of LIKE which is signed smoothly right afterwards.

TAKE-IN - (2h)[3], POs ><, FOs away, thumbs point at eye level and move several times > signer while FT wg, not thumbs. The positioning of the hands show that it could be to take it in visually or aurally.

MANY-LOOK-UP-TO - (2h)[4] show the eyegaze of many people.

SKY - using the FT of the upturned palm, point > sky and sweep the hand > DS. For a QuickTime movie of this sign, see ASL browser - sky.

Lyrics:

Antiphon: Turn to me, O turn, and be saved,
says the Lord, for I am God;
There is no other, none beside me.
I call your name.

1. I am (He that/God who) comforts you;
who are you to be afraid
of flesh that fades, is made like the grass of the field
soon to wither. Antiphon

2. Listen to me, my people;
give ear to me, my nation:
A law will go forth from me and my justice for a light
to the people. Antiphon

3. Lift up your eyes to the heavens,
and look at the earth down below.
The heavens will vanish like smoke and the earth will wear out
like a garment. Antiphon
